What’s Your Dream? // Sonia Bavistock

If you dont want work to feel like a job this is how you go about decorating your office space. The key element here is the natural light coming through the window, it sets the mood by incorporating warm colours with the already warm space. It is so simple, yet so practical and welcoming.

Thank you to everyone who tuned in for our first “What’s Your Dream?” last week! Today we’re finding out about the dreams of Sonia from Sonia Styling. I’ll let Sonia tell a little bit about herself.

My name is Sonia and I live in South Australia with my husband (Mr Styling) and our adorable fluffball puppy, Amalfi. I love fashion, writing, connecting on social media and if you pour me a glass of wine, I’ll love you forever. My blog – Sonia Styling – is a cocktail of fashion, life, beauty and homewares, all served with a dash of sass, a sprinkling of humour and a generous pour of honesty. I’m styling my life, one story at a time.

What is your most incredible dream?

To be able to write for a living. Come with me and my imagination for a moment, if you will… Waking up as the sun rises, taking our puppy for a leisurely walk, returning home to enjoy breakfast and a coffee followed by a hot shower. Sitting down at my desk in the home office we’ve set up in our front room and begin to write. And write. And write. Until it’s time to power down for another day and enjoy some quality time with my husband. Sounds dreamy, doesn’t it?!

Do you think it’s attainable?

Yes! Without tooting my own horn too loudly, I think I have a bit of a knack for writing. Other people seem to enjoy reading my work and at the end of the day, it’s truly my passion. Given the right opportunities, I don’t see why I wouldn’t be able to write as a career.

How long have you been holding onto this dream?

In reality, probably most of my life but I’ve only acknowledged it and really gone for it in the last 8 months. Crazy, right? Oh well, better late than never!

What will it take for your dream to become a reality?

Ooh, good question. At the moment, I don’t think I could say for absolute certain but I’ll go back to my previous answer – the right opportunities. Whatever they might be.

Who are the people that encourage you the most?

My husband, my closest girlfriends and my fellow blogging buddies. They all instill me with the belief that I’m a talented writer, an excellent communicator and someone that others can relate to. They encourage me to stay true to my voice, and to keep writing and connecting. They’re my own personal cheer squad completely with glittery pom poms!

Who inspires you, and makes you want to chase your dream?

Definitely other bloggers. There are too many to name, so I’ll just single out a few of the more well-
known bloggers for the simple fact that despite their success, they are so incredibly down to earth and forthcoming with support and advice: Nikki from Styling You, Mrs Woog from WoogsWorld, Andrea from Fox in Flats, Beth from BabyMac and Christina from Hair Romance.

If you’re a fledgling blogger and need some help or direction, reach out to any one of these amazing ladies and I guarantee you they will respond with the best kind of advice money simply can’t buy. And this is pretty much what I love most about the blogging world – second only to actually blogging – is the support and friendship.

I’m pretty sure Sonia has just what it takes to make her dream become reality.
