Tomorrow is Friday the 13th, and I know some people wouldn’t dream of even stepping foot outside the door on this date! Others buy up big on lottery tickets, while some are just that little bit more careful around mirrors, ladders and black cats than they usually are.
I can’t say that I’m really superstitious, but I wasn’t always that carefree around the darker felines. For as long as I could remember, I had a recurring dream that I was being chased by a very angry cat! Now I’ve always had cats as pets, and never had any trouble with them, so not quite sure what my subconcious was trying to tell me with this one, but it always seemed to come to me when I was dealing with a particularly stressful event. But why I was being chased by a cat always baffled me.
For our first Valentine’s Day, John bought me a tiny black kitten. He was the runt of the litter, such a wee little boy and we called him Windsor. He was the most loveable little guy, who quickly grew into the hugest panther I’ve ever seen! When standing on his hind legs, he could look onto the kitchen benchtop, he was a giant. Windsor was so gentle, but he was about as unintelligent as he was big, definitely not the brightest cat around, but surely the most affectionate. We were lucky enough to have him with us for 9 years, and I can guarantee he had a very good life…..just a little bit spoilt.
Funnily enough, from the day that little kitten came home with us, I never again had the horrible chasing cat dream. I would love to know what my mind was doing and why it chose to use my favourite animal as a threat?
Anyway, whether you are superstitious or not, I hope good luck is with you tomorrow. The way I think about it is, if you set yourself up for a bad day, you’re probably going to have one. Maybe start the day thinking it’s going to be your lucky one, and some good stuff could come your way. Remember, it’s not always as obvious as you think it may be.

Maybe your dreams were telling you that you were meant to have a black cat in your life!!!
Maybe that was it, Al xx
Haha – I have a great big black cat/panther in my life too (suppose you could say that a black cat crosses my path every day!) and he’s the gentlest, most beautiful creature I’ve ever met. I’m convinced whoever decided black cats were evil has never owned one!
I had to laugh when I read that you got a puppy and kitten at the same time, 3 months ago we got twin pups and a kitten in one day. Like I have nothing else to do with my days!
The things we do. x
